The Stark Metropolitan Housing Authority (SMHA), which provides more than 2,500 housing units to families throughout Stark County, Ohio, will undergo a comprehensive investment grade energy audit (IGEA) for many of its facilities. The IGEA will be conducted by Johnson Controls, a global leader in delivering energy solutions, and is the first component of a comprehensive Energy Performance Contract (EPC). The EPC will provide new upgraded equipment and employ various conservation measures to reduce energy consumption and costs associated with HVAC (heating, ventilation, and air-conditioning), lighting, water and building envelope while creating a healthier, safer, and more comfortable environment for SMHA residents.

Prior to the IGEA, SMHA leadership and representatives from Johnson Controls will be holding a series of “Resident Receptions” to discuss the details of the project, solicit input from the residents, and update the residents on strategies to reduce energy.
