This spring, SMHA will facilitate the Green Up Clean Up Project which will focus on engaging with over 750 families at Linwood Acres, Jackson Sherrick, Ellisdale, and Leshdale and securing partnerships with local organizations to administer litter prevention, educational, recycling, and beautification activities. SMHA plans to facilitate Keep America Beautiful educational workshops and activities, develop educational and promotional materials, and provide educational and hands-on learning experiences for children living in these communities. Residents who reside at these developments will have the opportunity to participate in a single-stream recycling program. Fliers will be mailed to all residents who, in turn, must fill out and return to join the program. Recycling bins will be delivered this spring to all residents who would like to participate. The following items can be recycled:

  • Glass Containers
  • Steel & Tin Cans
  • Plastic Containers
  • Milk & Juice Containers
  • Aluminum
  • Cardboard
  • Mixed Paper
  • Newspaper
  • Plastic Bags

If you are interested in going green and joining the SMHA recycling program and you reside at either the Jackson Sherrick, Linwood, Ellisdale, or Leshdale developments, please contact Ashley Wright, Communications Manager–awright@starkmha.org for more information.
